CILIP has joined up with change management specialists Q2 to produce a cutting-edge programme for its second Executive Briefing of 2006. It will be presented at CILIP's Central London offices on 8 September and will focus on Managing change in the e-Enabled Library.
Full details of the programme and on-line booking is available on the event's website at www.cilip.org.uk/eenabled. This event follows the sell-out success of CILIP's e-Copyright Executive Briefing in June, which delegates rated 90% Good to Excellent.
The new Briefing will address key issues faced by more and more public library managers as they tackle multiple change agendas and a range of initiatives driven by Central Government and local authorities. Formal presentations will be complemented by a number of Case Studies and interactive discussion sessions.
Issues tackled will include how introducing e-based technology and e-enabled working methods are impacting on staff skills and numbers; how changes are being forced on librarians as they seek to cope with these new demands; and how they affect training and personal development needs.
Key questions which the Executive Briefing will help answer are: - Do you have a clearly defined vision for your library?
- If so, have you determined how you will implement your strategy?
- Do you have a clear Action Plan to deliver the desired outcomes?
- How confident are you that your desired outcomes can be achieved?
- Do you and your staff have the skills to successfully manage these projects?
Attendance will be restricted to just 70 delegates to maximise the opportunity for discussion and debate; so immediate booking is strongly advised. Special delegate registration rates are available for CILIP members. Early booking is strongly advised via www.cilip.org.uk/eenabled, call CILIP Conferences on 020 7255 0543/4 or e-mail conferences@cilip.org.uk. |
