CADsign is an application that allows you to embed a digital
signature into an AutoCAD drawing (AutoCAD 2000 and above). A construction
project produces hundreds of drawings which are then collated,
signed
and posted to various sites. Sending a secure signed AutoCAD drawing
by digital methods enables clients to receive vital information
within minutes rather than days, saving time and money and meeting
deadlines. It avoids having to print drawings to be able to sign
them for documented evidence.
The benefits in brief:
- Improves drawing security and control of documents
- Eliminates the need to print out, obtain signatures and file
paper drawings
- Vital information can be received within minutes rather than
days
- Has the flexibility to fit into your current drawing approval
process
- Provides clear audit trail
- Enables compliance with ISO9000 quality standards
- Assigns ownership and improves accountability of data
- Approval process is not limited to a physical location
You enrol onto the system by scanning your fingerprint and registering
it with your handwritten signature. This only needs to be done once.
You then use a fingerprint or password to "sign" the drawing. Once
the fingerprint or password is verified an image of the signature
is digitally embedded into the CAD drawing. The need for recreating
your signature every time you sign your name is eliminated.
Anyone viewing an AutoCAD drawing will only need the verifier software
(available free) which checks fields when loaded and enables drawings
signed with CADsign to be displayed with their embedded signature
data.
AutoCAD drawings can be approved using a fingerprint, password
or handwritten signature. Sign-it for AutoCAD provides security
with a handwritten signature entered in real time, by signing using
a digitiser or input device. Different types of signatures (initials
only, full signature, etc) can be used much as they are when signing
paper drawings. |
